The Two Witnesses
Revelation 1:1 The Revelation…3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written in it.
THEIR POWER
11:3 I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred and sixty days. 4 These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands standing before the God of the earth. 5 And if anyone wants to harm them, fire proceeds from their mouth and devours their enemies. 6 These have power to shut heaven, so that no rain falls in the days of their prophecy; and they have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to strike the earth with all plagues, as often as they desire.
THEIR DEATH
7 When they finish their testimony, the beast… will make war against them, overcome them, and kill them. 8 And their dead bodies will lie in the street of the great city… where also our Lord was crucified. 9 Then those from the… nations will see their dead bodies three-and-a-half days, and not allow their dead bodies to be put into graves. 10 And those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them, make merry, and send gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.
THEIR RESURRECTION
11 Now after the three-and-a-half days the breath of life from God entered them, and they stood on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. 12 And they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here.” And they ascended to heaven in a cloud, and their enemies saw them. 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. In the earthquake seven thousand people were killed, and the rest were afraid and gave glory to the God of heaven.
8:7 A third of the trees were burned up, and all green grass was burned up.
8 Something like a great mountain burning with fire was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
11 A third of the waters became wormwood, and many men died from the water, because it was made bitter.
12 A third of the sun was struck, a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them were darkened. A third of the day did not shine, and likewise the night.
9:3 Locusts came upon the earth. 5 Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it strikes a man. 6 In those days men will seek death and will not find it.
18 A third of mankind was killed—by fire, smoke and brimstone.
20 But the rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent… that they should not worship demons, and idols… 21 And they did not repent of their murders or their sorceries or their sexual immorality or their thefts.
